Privacy Policy
RosterRadar Privacy Policy
RosterRadar ("RosterRadar," "we," "our," or "us") provides a Chrome extension that helps users follow live MLB games based on the relevance of those games to the user's fantasy baseball matchup.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we handle it when you use the RosterRadar Chrome extension and related services.
1. Information We Collect
If you choose to connect a supported fantasy team, RosterRadar accesses information needed to provide the extension's functionality, including your selected fantasy team and matchup, roster and player performance information, and the identifiers needed to keep that connection working. Yahoo sync uses Yahoo account authentication to connect your team. Fantrax sync does not require your Fantrax password and instead reads your league through publicly available league APIs. ESPN sync uses ESPN session cookies from ESPN domains to connect your ESPN fantasy baseball team. RosterRadar does not collect or store your ESPN password.
RosterRadar also retrieves public MLB game data needed to rank live games by fantasy relevance, including scores, inning state, runners on base, outs, balls, strikes, player status, and game identifiers.
To preserve setup and personalization across sessions, RosterRadar stores certain information locally in your browser, including your selected fantasy team, feed URLs, scoreboard delay settings, favorites, Auto Tune preferences, onboarding state, cached entitlement state, Yahoo authentication tokens, and ESPN session-cookie-derived connection state needed to keep supported fantasy connections working.
RosterRadar may also send limited account-related information to our backend service to verify extension access, provide entitlement or account state, and deliver update notices or account-related messages.
RosterRadar uses Google Analytics and RosterRadar backend analytics services to collect limited usage and performance data, such as extension views and interactions, side panel open and close state, managed-tab viewing activity, page loads, settings changes, Auto Tune actions, selected feature usage, basic feed context, a persistent analytics client identifier, an extension install identifier, and an account-linked subject identifier when available. We may also use website campaign parameters and Chrome Web Store click timing to infer broad acquisition source for extension installs.
2. How We Use Information
- Connect your supported fantasy team and keep that connection working
- Determine which live MLB games are most relevant to your fantasy matchup
- Display game and player context in the extension
- Support Auto Tune and related feed-switching features
- Save your preferences and settings
- Verify access and account status
- Improve product reliability, performance, and user experience
- Communicate extension-related status such as update notices or account messages
RosterRadar's use and transfer of user data received through Chrome extension APIs and supported fantasy-provider APIs is limited to providing and improving RosterRadar's user-facing features and complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information.
We may transmit or share data only as needed to operate the extension, including with Yahoo for sign-in and fantasy sports data, with Fantrax public league APIs when you choose Fantrax sync, with ESPN fantasy APIs when you choose ESPN sync, with MLB and the MLB Stats API for live public game data, with Google Docs-hosted public SFBB player ID maps to match fantasy players to MLB players, with Google Analytics for limited analytics and product performance measurement, and with RosterRadar backend services for access verification, entitlement state, analytics relay, attribution, and extension messaging.
We do not use user data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes.
4. Website and Page Access
RosterRadar interacts with supported MLB.com and MLB.TV pages so it can recognize game feeds, present in-page controls, sync the overlay to the correct game tab, and help manage the user's selected viewing tab or RosterRadar tab group.
Chrome may treat the extension's tabs access as browsing-history-sensitive, which is why it can appear in privacy disclosures that refer to web history or visited pages. In practice, RosterRadar uses that access only to find relevant open MLB tabs and keep the extension attached to the right game experience.
RosterRadar does not request Chrome's history permission, and we do not build, store, or sell a browsing-history log of the sites you visit. We do not monitor unrelated browsing activity for unrelated purposes.
5. Data Retention
Data stored locally in the extension remains in your browser until it is changed, cleared, or removed by uninstalling the extension or disconnecting relevant services. Third-party services such as Yahoo, Fantrax, ESPN, MLB, Google Docs-hosted public player ID maps, Google Analytics, and our backend may retain data according to their own retention practices and policies.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information used by RosterRadar. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Choices
- Disconnect your Yahoo, Fantrax, or ESPN connection from the extension
- Change or remove local settings stored by the extension
- Uninstall the extension at any time
- Stop using RosterRadar at any time
8. Children's Privacy
RosterRadar is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Third-Party Services
RosterRadar relies on third-party services, including Yahoo, Fantrax, ESPN, MLB, Google Docs-hosted public player ID maps, Google Analytics, and RosterRadar backend services. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of RosterRadar after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
